The vision of Benty: Building bridges in the sports sector of the Canary Islands
An idea with a purpose
Benty is the first and only online marketplace in the sports sector of the Canary Islands. As a pilot project, the platform was launched in Lanzarote, with the goal of quickly scaling to all the Canary Islands. Benty provides information about the most important sports events on the island and features an online store offering products and services from the local sector: experiences, clothing, and accessories. In addition, a podcast introduces the most prominent figures in regional sports.
What makes Benty unique is its ability to create the first digital bridge between businesses and customers in the sports sector, thereby increasing the visibility of local businesses and their key players. But Benty is not just about technology; the project has a clear social mission.
Benty represents an innovative and exemplary lifestyle, a movement of active and sports-minded people who lead a healthy and sustainable life with a focus on personal development. In the cooperative space, Benty acts as a link between the various players in the sector, providing a communicative and interactive platform for entrepreneurs, administration, and athletes.
Furthermore, Benty positions itself as a thought leader and influencer in its market, taking on an educational role in physical and mental health, nutrition, and inclusion. The project places a special focus on families, offering a wide range of activities for children, emphasizing the importance of sports for the development of future generations.
The claim Benty conmigo (“Benty with me”) is an invitation to join this integral movement that aims to make a positive impact on the sports sector of the Canary Islands.
The goal of Benty is to promote strategic partnerships in the sports sector of the Canary Islands, leverage synergies, and accelerate innovation, guided by the motto: “Together we are stronger.” I have many plans for Benty. The platform, as it is designed now, is just the beginning.

Details about the founder
Marlene Merle, 44, is a computer scientist, marketing and branding expert, and mother of a five-year-old daughter. Being a passionate sports enthusiast, she has lived in the Canary Islands for many years, and has called Lanzarote her home for over a decade.
The idea for Benty was born out of a personal need: the wish for a holistic network of sports experiences. In her daily life on Lanzarote, Marlene especially missed having easy access to family-oriented sports activities – a gap she set out to fill by creating Benty.
